President's Message

On behalf of the Mid-Atlantic Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar (MALEEDS) Executive Board, welcome to our website.  MALEEDS is one of the premier selective law enforcement leadership training programs in the nation.  We pride ourselves on both our outstanding educational curriculum and the important networking opportunities that we offer.  We hope you find the information on our website informative.

MALEEDS was established in 1993 as one of the thirteen original FBI-LEEDS regional command colleges.  These thirteen command colleges were established to provide high level leadership training to police executives representing law enforcement agencies of seventy-five or less officers.  There are now twenty-one regional FBI-LEEDA command colleges in the United States.

MALEEDS is run by an Executive Board made up of former and current law enforcement professionals in partnership with representatives from the Newark, NJ, Philadelphia, PA and New York City FBI field offices.  Each year we select sixty-five law enforcement executives from a large pool of applicants from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York, for a week-long training program hosted on the campus of Princeton University.  The training curriculum has included topics such as Ethics, Social Media, Art of Perception, Generational Leadership, Media, Emotional Survival in Law Enforcement, Officer Survival and Legal Issues.  The curriculum periodically changes to keep current with issues that face today’s law enforcement leaders.

While we pride ourselves on our high level educational program, the MALEEDS Executive Board also provides nightly networking opportunities to continue the learning experience outside of the classroom.  These networking opportunities include a Welcome Picnic, a Class Dinner, a Class Reception and Banquet, and nightly networking in the Nassau Inn Library.

Upon graduation from MALEEDS, our graduates become part of the larger FBI-LEEDA organization.  FBI-LEEDA provides leadership training to police officers throughout the year and has an annual training conference each spring.

We are extremely pleased with the success and development of Mid-Atlantic LEEDS and we will strive to continue to bring the best executive level training and networking to law enforcement executives from the tri-state area.

Fraternally,

Charles W. Davall, Jr., President

Mid-Atlantic Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar
